What is DNS?

DNS stands for Domain Name System. The Domain Name System translates Internet domain and host names to IP addresses and vice versa. Whenever you visit a website, your computer uses a DNS to get the site’s IP address and connects you to it. Thus, DNS acts like a translator converting human readable web address into machine readable address.
